To help us reply usefully, put the subject of your message in the subject line — for example "Correction: dog cost calculator, boarding range" or "Question: senior multiplier".

What we can help with

• Corrections. If a figure, a source or a statement on this site is wrong, tell us what it should be and where the evidence is. Corrections are made on the page, with the date recorded.
• Questions about how a calculator works. Including anything you think is unclear or misleading — that feedback is genuinely useful.
• Sources and data. We are happy to say exactly which public figures a range was built from.
• Press and research. If you are writing about dog ownership costs and want to cite our methodology, we will explain it in more detail than the site does.

What we cannot help with

• Anything medical. We are not a veterinary practice and cannot advise on symptoms, treatment, medications, diets for a specific condition, or whether a bill is fair. For that, contact a licensed veterinarian — and in an emergency, an emergency veterinary hospital rather than an email.
• Individual financial advice. Our tools help you build a budget. They cannot tell you whether you should get a dog, and we will not try.
• Insurance claims or disputes. We are not an insurer, broker or agent. Take those to your provider.
• Requests to change a range. We will correct a number that is wrong. We will not change one because it is inconvenient — for us or for anyone else.

We do not sell sponsored placements in our content, and we do not accept payment for favourable coverage. If you represent a company and want to advertise, tell us in the subject line — but be aware that advertising never buys editorial input here.
